Welcome to Mrs. Weaver's 5th Grade Math Class

Hello, my name is Deidre Weaver. This is my second year at JMS as a 5th grade math teacher. I am starting my 13th year teaching. Throughout my career in Gilmer County, I taught grades 1st through 5th. I grew up in Pickens County and graduated from Pickens High School. I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Education from Dalton State University, my Master’s Degree in Math and Reading from Walden University, my Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College, and I am Gifted and ESOL certified.  My goal this year is to create a loving and safe classroom environment where students understand that learning happens when we make mistakes and keep trying.

When I am not at school, I love spending time with my family. I have been married to my husband, Nick, for 20 years. We have 3 amazing children (Ardyn 21, Nolyn 18, and Kallyn 11). We have one beautiful and energetic granddaughter (Wrenley Grace 10 months). I enjoy running, working out, camping, watching my kids play sports, watching football, and yelling "Go Dawgs".

I am so excited to spend the school year with your child. We are going to have so much fun!
