Georgia Standard of Excellence to be covered this year

Hello, my name is Lydia Marsicek and I am so excited to be part of the JMS team! My journey to teaching did not take the traditional route, but it’s never too late to follow your dreams. I have worked with children for over 25 years through volunteer work. I have a passion and empathy for the needs of the children and families in our community. I believe education opens the doors of opportunity and can change the trajectory of future generations. My desire is to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and inspire them to become life-long learners, critical thinkers, and learn personal responsibility. Aside from teaching, I am originally from Miami, FL, but have had the privilege of calling Jasper my home since 1998. I am a wife, mother of two, and Gam Gam to my 2 beautiful grandbabies. I’m excited for a wonderful year ahead and thankful for the opportunity to work with the families in our community.

Education:
Drafting Diploma, Appalachian Technical College
