The month of September is Suicide Prevention Month. Our Sources of Strength students participated in an event outside the lunchroom where resources were given out. They reminded students that they're not alone and trusted adults are here to help!

Thank you, Jasper Fitness, for sponsoring the PJHS Tutoring Program by purchasing snacks for the students!

Important Reminder Regarding the Free & Reduced Meal Program
The carryover in benefits from last year’s Free & Reduced Meal Program will end September 13, 2024. After this date the student will return to full pay status unless a new application is submitted to re-establish the student's eligibility before the end of the carryover period.
For households that meet the income requirements we encourage you to submit a new free and reduced application now.

In groups of four, each group wrote a short script using a plot diagram from Language Arts and performed their skits for their classmates. Pictured is one of the performing groups.

After School Tutoring begins Tuesday, September 3rd!

It's More Than a Meal Application - Completing the Free and Reduced Lunch Application helps in many areas beyond just free or reduced price meals. Just one form ensures continued funding to support all students in Pickens County School District.
Please fill out a new application every year at https://www.pickens.k12.ga.us/o/pcs/page/free-reduced-meals.

As Viticulture continues to be one of the fastest growing areas of agriculture in North Georgia, the Basic Ag class at Pickens Junior High had the opportunity to learn hands on skills from the owner of Lakeside Valley Vineyards, Susan Anthony. From her visit to Napa valley, to her ground breaking in Pickens county, she shared her journey with the students that led her to where she is now. The students were able to inspect and transplant seedlings and in the spring plan to visit the vineyard to see the full process
